Ever since a child is born, he is taught to do well in school because that’s how he/she will be able to get a good job and a make a decent living. But we miss out on one important thing that is a sure shot to success.
We teach our kids that the worldly education is the only way they’ll succeed in life and we fail to teach them the belief that we need Allah’s will and help in order to succeed in this life and the hereafter.

Prayer is the guaranteed path to success.
The 5 times prayer has been put obligatory upon us. There is no excuse for leaving out a prayer and it holds a very high importance in Islam. It is said that even if you are drowning in the sea and you hear the adhan, perform the prayer with your eyes.
Imagine the importance of prayer in this regard.
But now lies our question, Why is prayer so important for us? Why does Allah focus on prayer so many times in the Quran?
The translation of Adhan :
Hayya ‘ala-s-Salah
Hurry to the prayer.
Hayya ‘ala-l-Falah
Hurry to success.
There is a clear mention of success in the adhan.
Who is this call from?
The Adhan is a call to prayer, isn’t it? Now take one minute pause and ask yourself, who is this call from? Who is calling you to prayer?
Allah is calling you to prayer. Go back to reading the translation of the Adhan and make the connection. Allah is calling you to prayer and he is calling you to success.
How is this a 100% guaranteed path to success?
If Allah subhanahu wa ta’la is himself calling you to success, there is no way on earth that success can not be yours. It is a promise from Him that prayer is your way to success.
Prayer was gifted to us at the night of Al-Isra Wal Mi’araj.
The meaning of gift in English is put as “a thing given willingly to someone without payment; a present.” Prayer is taken as a burden but it has been referred to as a gift for us.
We all run behind school education for good jobs, we run behind good people for a better social reputation; we run behind relatives for a good marital proposal and we run behind the worldly life to live a better life, but we forget to run behind the One who has the power to give us a good job, a good life partner, and a good standard of living.
We forget to run behind Allah. The one in whose hands our success lies.
Ask yourself, Does Allah need our 5 times prayer?
Nope. He does not need our Ibadah at all because in the heaven, there are angels who are in constant sujood and ruku. They have been doing Ibadah ever since they were created and they will stay like that until the end of this world.
And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive [to Allah]. (Quran 2:45)
What success is Allah talking about?
We have this misconception that wherever in the Quran or Hadith or Adhan, the word success implies the success on the Day of Judgement. Yes, it is the success on the day of Qayamat when our deeds and sins will be evaluated, but remember that wherever Allah mentions success, He is also referring to the success of this life as well. This is the same success Allah is calling you towards through his Adhan.
